IDR is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer – AWS China to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role is ideal for a senior cloud/data engineering leader with deep experience in AWS China environments and the ability to support complex big data modernization efforts in a global organization. Chinese language skills are highly preferred, and we are especially interested in candidates who are bilingual in English and Chinese. This position will play a key role in leading cloud data initiatives and supporting the transition of big data processes to the public cloud.

Position Overview for the Lead Data Platform Engineer – AWS China:

  • Lead day-to-day execution across cloud solutions architecture and data platform initiatives, with a strong focus on AWS China, automation, operational support, and deployment of cloud technologies.
  • Serve as a technical and people leader for teams engaged in cloud data projects, promoting collaboration, mentoring, training, and engineering best practices.
  • Build, test, and optimize cloud-based data processes that align with business needs, scalability goals, and long-term platform strategy.
  • Support the deployment and management of big data applications in AWS China using AWS-native services and open-source technologies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design and maintain scalable, efficient, and secure cloud data solutions across production and non-production environments.
  • Help drive cloud strategy and execution for data platforms supporting complex enterprise needs, including roadmap planning and delivery leadership.

Requirements for the Lead Data Platform Engineer – AWS China:

  • Strong experience working in AWS China environments is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Chinese are highly preferred, and we are targeting candidates who can effectively operate in both languages.
  • Industry experience with AWS components, open-source cloud provisioning tools, big data tools and practices, and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience configuring and tuning Informatica.
  • Experience working within public cloud environments supporting both production and non-production workloads.
  • Proven experience leading people directly and/or through other leaders.
  • Experience leading large-scale projects, solving complex business problems, and building/executing multi-year roadmaps.
