Procurement Specialist

Terms: 6+ Month Contract (potential to extend/convert)
Hourly Pay Rate: $40 – $48/hour

Overview:
We are seeking a Supplier Diversity Specialist to lead enterprise initiatives that expand opportunities for small and diverse businesses. This role combines strategic engagement, data analytics, and compliance oversight—including experience with SBA reporting and familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).


Responsibilities:
  • Execute Supplier Diversity Strategic Plan and drive continuous program improvement.
  • Lead outreach, supplier engagement, and relationship building with diverse businesses and advocacy partners.
  • Manage Tier 1 and Tier 2 program reporting, including analysis, insights, and data integrity.
  • Support regulatory and compliance activities (e.g., SBA reporting, DLA subcontracting plans, audits).
  • Serve as system lead for NRG’s supplier portal and maintain accurate supplier diversity classifications.
  • Partner with procurement teams to integrate diverse suppliers into sourcing strategies through data driven recommendations.


Top Skills:
  • 3+ years of supplier diversity, procurement, or supply chain experience
  • Experience with SBA reporting, subcontracting plans, or federal supplier diversity requirements.
  • Familiarity with FAR principles related to supplier diversity.
  • Advanced Excel skills; SAP S/4HANA experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship building skills. Experience using source control systems, such as Git.
  • Experience with at least one non-Apex, object-oriented programming language, such as Python or Java.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex data loads (e.g., governor limits, performance, process builders, apex timeouts)
