Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Remote Risk Adjustment Coder:
Conduct coding trainings and educational sessions to support physicians, mid-levels, and support staff in understanding and capturing Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs).
Perform both prospective and retrospective chart reviews, provider assessments, and deliver one-on-one and group education.
Abstract diagnosis codes from notes to educate providers and staff on the importance of accurate HCC coding.
Prepare targeted educational materials tailored to specific practice needs and act as a coding resource, responding promptly to inquiries.
Collaborate with the leadership team to establish Electronic Medical Record (EMR) access across all practices.
Required Skills for Remote Risk Adjustment Coder:
High School Diploma or GED.
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is mandatory.
2-5 years of experience in risk adjustment coding.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Ownership of ICD-10 coding books is highly preferred.
