IDR is seeking a Engineering Manager to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Nashville OR Tampa! This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader who can drive software delivery across new feature development and production support in a large, enterprise environment. You’ll partner closely with product and technology stakeholders while guiding a cross-functional team through execution in an Agile/SAFe delivery model. The client is a well-established organization in the professional services / enterprise technology space, focused on building and modernizing scalable, cloud-first platforms.
Position Overview for the Engineering Manager:
- Lead end-to-end delivery for both new feature development and production support, ensuring predictable execution and high-quality outcomes
- Coordinate across cross-functional partners (analysts, architects, engineers, and leaders across onshore/offshore teams) to remove blockers and maintain momentum
- Stay hands-on with solution design and technical decision-making, including reviews for code quality, testing, and maintainability
- Drive modern Azure cloud-native engineering practices (microservices, PaaS/serverless patterns, CI/CD, and observability)
- Reinforce strong engineering standards (security, performance, reliability) and mentor engineers toward continuous improvement
Requirements for the Engineering Manager:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience across modern web/service technologies (e.g., front-end frameworks and backend/service development)
- 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams in product engineering organizations, owning delivery from inception through release
- 5+ years of hands-on Azure cloud-native engineering experience (microservices, PaaS/serverless, and production-grade operations)
- Proven experience delivering in a large corporate Agile/SAFe environment across both feature delivery and production support
- Strong foundation in architecture and engineering fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures/algorithms, automated testing, and technical documentation)
