This is an ideal opportunity for a strong software engineer who has progressed into technical leadership but remains highly hands-on with development. You’ll lead a lean engineering team, contribute directly to the codebase, make key architecture decisions, and help establish best practices around modern AI-assisted software development.

Position Overview for the Technical Delivery Lead:

  • Serve as the hands-on technical lead and design authority for a modern cloud-based web application

  • Lead a lean software development team of approximately 2–3 engineers while actively contributing to development

  • Own technical design and architecture decisions across AWS, backend services/APIs, frontend development, and cloud infrastructure

  • Lead application development across a modern full-stack environment, including a strong AWS backend and React-based frontend

  • Drive sprint planning, technical decision-making, code quality, troubleshooting, testing, and deployment readiness

  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms while establishing strong practices around code quality, testing, review, and maintainability

  • Mentor developers and help the team effectively leverage AI-assisted development without sacrificing engineering standards

  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions

Requirements for the Technical Delivery Lead:

  • Strong professional software engineering background with recent hands-on development experience

  • Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer, Senior/Staff Engineer, hands-on Software Architect, or similar technical leadership role

  • Strong full-stack development experience with the ability and willingness to write and review production code

  • Experience designing and developing cloud-native applications in AWS

  • Strong backend development experience and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React

  • Experience with modern application architecture, APIs, containerized workloads, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or comparable technologies

  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, code quality, maintainability, security, and scalable application design

  • Demonstrated ability to make and clearly explain architecture decisions, technical tradeoffs, and design approaches

  • Ability to lead and mentor developers while remaining technically hands-on

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders

  • Must be able to work 7:30 AM–4:30 PM Central Time

Preferred Experience:

  • Python and/or FastAPI

  • React, JavaScript, or TypeScript

  • AWS ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, S3, or similar AWS services

  • Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code technologies
