IDR is seeking a Software Developer to join one of our top clients for a hybrid opportunity in New York, NY.
This role involves supporting a financial services firm focused on multi-strategy asset management, specifically assisting with migrating their systems from a legacy environment to a modern cloud-native platform using Rust. The position offers a dynamic environment where innovative backend development and cloud expertise are essential for success.
Position Overview for the Software Developer:
- Develop and enhance cloud-native distributed systems on AWS in a production environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and modernize platforms, including migration projects.
- Contribute to creating scalable, high-performance services with a focus on reliability, security, and operational excellence.
- Engage in full lifecycle software development, from planning to deployment and maintenance.
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Requirements for the Software Developer:
- 5+ years of backend/software engineering experience, including building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS in production environments.
- 2+ years of hands-on Rust experience (or demonstrable production-grade Rust project work), including async/concurrency and performance tuning.
- Strong background in C#/.NET and microservices/service-oriented architectures, with experience migrating or modernizing legacy/.NET platforms.
- Deep knowledge of AWS core services and cloud patterns (e.g., networking/VPC, IAM/security, compute/containerization, monitoring/logging).
- Proven ability to design and build greenfield platforms (new services, data contracts, CI/CD standards, and operational readiness) in a regulated environment.
