IDR is seeking a Data Center Technician to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Livermore, CA. This role involves supporting rack builds, hardware installation, cabling, configuration, testing, and asset tracking within the Data Center. The position also includes travel to customer sites to assist with rack installations, service, and repairs.
Position Overview for the Data Center Technician:
- Support rack and stack servers, network hardware, and accessories using rack elevation documentation.
- Read cable matrices and complete port-to-port cabling and labeling.
- Install or upgrade server and network components, including memory, CPUs, expansion cards, and modules.
- Configure, test, and prepare equipment for deployment.
- Track equipment and capture asset information, including serial numbers, asset tags, and MAC addresses; package and stage completed equipment for shipment.
- Travel to customer sites to perform installations and support field service teams.
Requirements for the Data Center Technician:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of rack fabrication/build experience.
- Ability to read rack elevations and cable matrix documentation.
- Experience working with servers, networking equipment, cabling, and hardware components.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
