IDR is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Chantilly, VA. This role offers an exciting chance to support data center operations by maintaining complex mechanical and electrical systems, supervising engineering teams, and managing mechanical projects. The company is a leader in the data center industry, committed to delivering reliable infrastructure solutions.

Position Overview for the Lead Building Engineer:

  • Lead maintenance support for the data center and campus, ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems operate efficiently
  • Supervise engineering staff and coordinate projects under the direction of the Chief Engineer
  • Assist outside vendors/contractors with specialized maintenance, repairs, and mechanical projects
  • Promote continuous improvement of existing practices and learn new systems
  • Report to the Chief Engineer and maintain a high standard of operational excellence

Requirements for the Lead Building Engineer:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data center environment
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience related to building management
  • Preferred: 2 years’ experience with building automation systems, Johnson Controls, Metasys
  • Supervisory experience and project management skills
