IDR is seeking a Building Engineer to join one of our top clients for an onsite opportunity in Chantilly, VA. This role involves maintaining and operating all mechanical and electrical systems within a high-availability data center environment. The position provides critical support to ensure the smooth functioning of facility operations on a 12-hour shift schedule.
Position Overview for the Building Engineer:
- The Building Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and operation of mechanical and electrical systems in a complex data center environment.
- Provides assistance to external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and mechanical projects.
- Supports facility safety policies and participates in safety training and initiatives.
- Works on a 12-hour shift schedule, contributing to the reliability and safety of critical data center facilities.
- Reports to the Facilities Manager and ensures operational excellence of the building systems.
Requirements for the Building Engineer:
- 2-5 years of electrical and mechanical experience working in high availability environments like data centers, manufacturing, or hospitals.
- Experience with electric/pneumatic controls operation.
- Assist in the formulation, implementation, and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Participation in safety, knowledge, and skills training.
- CFC refrigeration license a plus.
