IDR is seeking a Network & IT Automation Engineer to join one of our top clients for an onsite opportunity in Chantilly, VA. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated solutions to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the organization’s network and IT infrastructure in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
Position Overview for the Network & IT Automation Engineer:
- Responsible for developing and managing automation solutions that streamline network and IT operations.
- Combines traditional networking expertise with scripting and automation to support scalable infrastructure.
- Plays a key role in reducing manual effort and increasing system uptime to meet growing operational demands.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams to implement configuration management and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Maintains and optimizes monitoring platforms to ensure proactive network management.
Requirements for the Network & IT Automation Engineer:
- 3–7 years of experience in network engineering or systems administration.
- Strong proficiency with enterprise networking (Cisco, Juniper, Unifi, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with automation/scripting: Python, PowerShell, Bash.
- Familiarity with configuration management / IaC tools: Ansible, Terraform, Git, CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
