IDR is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Franklin, Tennessee . This role will partner with infrastructure and security teams to strengthen and evolve security across AWS and Azure cloud environments within a fast-paced enterprise setting. The ideal candidate is hands-on, able to make clear recommendations, and can help enable teams to adopt and own cloud security best practices over time.
Position Overview for the Cloud Security Engineer :
- Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architecture across AWS and/or Azure environments.
- Secure cloud-native applications, infrastructure, data, and identity services while aligning to enterprise standards.
- Implement and manage IAM controls (least privilege, RBAC/ABAC, MFA) and integrate with enterprise identity providers.
- Build and enhance monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities using cloud-native tools and SIEM integrations.
- Partner closely with internal teams to communicate changes, provide guidance, and help train/mentor as security maturity grows.
Requirements for the Cloud Security Engineer :
- 5+ years of hands-on cloud security experience securing AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments
- Proven experience designing and implementing cloud security architecture (not only supporting existing builds)
- Strong IAM expertise (e.g., AWS IAM/Organizations/Identity Center and/or Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM) with least-privilege access controls
- Experience implementing cloud security services, logging/monitoring, and threat detection (e.g., Security Hub/GuardDuty/Config/Inspector or Defender for Cloud/Sentinel) and integrating with SIEM tools
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and train/mentor teams; cloud infrastructure/security networking knowledge is a plus
