IDR is seeking a Data Security Analyst to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Austin, TX. This role is part of a financial services organization focusing on fraud detection and security analysis. The position involves reviewing security alerts, analyzing transaction data, and collaborating with teams to mitigate fraud risks.
Position Overview for the Data Security Analyst:
- Reviews and analyzes fraud alerts, transaction activity, and security-related events using fraud detection and monitoring tools.
- Assists in identifying fraud trends, suspicious activity, and potential indicators of fraudulent behavior through queries, reports, and data analysis.
- Creates and tracks operational metrics, dashboards, and reports to support fraud monitoring and program performance.
- Conducts initial review and analysis of fraud alerts and suspicious activity and documents findings in accordance with established procedures.
- Escalates validated or high-risk fraud events to senior analysts, investigators, or management for further review and response.
Requirements for the Data Security Analyst:
- Must have 2 years of full-time cybersecurity, information security, fraud analysis, systems analysis, programming, computer operations, IT business analysis, or other IT-related experience.
- 1 year of required experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or another related technical field.
- Experience with risk management frameworks as it pertains to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
- Experience with various security monitoring tools, network and web assessment tools, and scripting languages.
- Systems Security Certified Professional (SSCP), Security+, or other security-related certifications; Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or other fraud-related certifications.
