IDR is seeking a Critical Operations Engineer II to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Secaucus, NY. This role is focused on maintaining and troubleshooting critical infrastructure systems within a data center environment, supporting high-availability operations and ensuring safety compliance. Position Overview for the Critical Operations Engineer II:
- Provide expert technical support and operational management of electrical, mechanical, and safety systems in a critical facility environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical distribution, HVAC, fire safety, and data cabling infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and building codes, including NFPA and NEC regulations.
- Monitor and analyze system data to proactively identify potential issues and optimize system performance.
- Support facility safety and emergency procedures, ensuring high standards of industrial safety and protocol adherence.
Requirements for the Critical Operations Engineer II:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems including chillers, HVAC, generator systems, and electrical distribution.
- Expert understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in critical facilities, including transformers, PLCs, UPS systems, and fire safety systems.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, and building codes related to fire life safety.
- Proven experience in fiber optics, cabling infrastructure, and industrial safety practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex system issues rapidly and accurately.
