IDR is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Rochester, MN. This role involves primary analysis and requirements gathering specific to MSS and Telecom device segmentation within a dynamic environment that utilizes established tooling and processes. The company operates within the technology and telecommunications industry, emphasizing security and network infrastructure.
Position Overview for the Technical Business Analyst:
- Lead analysis and requirements gathering for device segmentation projects supporting MSS and Telecom environments
- Document device populations, communication behaviors, dependencies, and validation criteria to implement least privilege segmentation
- Collaborate with engineers and operational teams to validate segment placement and communication pathways
- Support enforcement validation activities using tools like ServiceNow as the system of record
- Facilitate clear understanding and documentation of technical discussions related to network and security
Requirements for the Technical Business Analyst:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, advertising, marketing, statistics, engineering, technology, or healthcare
- 2+ years of relevant business and/or technical experience supporting infrastructure, networking, or security initiatives
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP networking, routing, firewalling, and segmentation
- Familiarity with network segmentation, access controls, ServiceNow CMDB, or least privilege models
- Ability to work directly with engineers and operational teams to validate real-world behaviors and constraints
