IDR is seeking a Workday Boundary Systems / 3rd-Party Solutions Architect to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Boston, Massachusetts. This senior-level role involves designing, governing, and optimizing integrations and boundary systems that interface with Workday, supporting complex enterprise environments in the healthcare, research, or higher education sectors.
Position Overview for the Workday Boundary Systems / 3rd-Party Solutions Architect:
- Designs target-state architecture for Workday boundary systems and third-party platforms across HR, Payroll, Finance, Research, Learning, and related domains.
- Defines integration, identity, and data exchange patterns using APIs, middleware, file transfers, web services, and event-driven approaches.
- Evaluates current-state systems, interfaces, and technical debt to recommend rationalization and modernization strategies.
- Develops architecture standards for master data ownership, exception handling, authentication, resiliency, and supportability.
- Partners with IT, business leadership, implementation partners, and application owners to deliver secure, scalable, and sustainable solutions that support operational requirements and reporting needs.
Requirements for the Workday Boundary Systems / 3rd-Party Solutions Architect:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise applications architecture, solution design, or integration architecture
- Expertise in enterprise architecture principles, boundary systems, and application interoperability
- Strong technical knowledge of integration patterns, master data strategy, authentication, and system dependencies
- Demonstrated experience guiding vendor evaluation, technical governance, and platform rationalization
- Workday certification required for Integrations and Security
