IDR is seeking a Senior Communications Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Houston, TX. This role offers the chance to work on critical midstream infrastructure projects within a stable and long-standing organization. The company operates within the communications systems industry, providing innovative solutions to operational environments.
Position Overview for the Senior Communications Engineer:
- Owns end-to-end design and architecture of communications systems, including fiber and microwave transport.
- Manages SCADA and telemetry communications, industrial Ethernet, and enterprise data networks.
- Oversees vendor management, contractor coordination, and field deployment troubleshooting.
- Supports lifecycle and infrastructure upgrades while collaborating cross-functionally with various teams.
- Requires travel to field locations and work onsite in Houston five days a week.
Requirements for the Senior Communications Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering.
- 7 years of experience in wireless, SCADA, telemetry, or related technologies.
- Experience in designing and integrating communication systems and managing related projects.
- Effective communication skills to work with internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
