IDR is seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Oklahoma City, OK. This role involves supporting the operation and maintenance of data center infrastructure within a fast-paced, 24/7 environment focused on ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The company specializes in large-scale data center compute and facilities management, committed to delivering secure and efficient infrastructure solutions.
Position Overview for the Data Center Operations Engineer:
- Conducts troubleshooting, maintenance, and operations of data center infrastructure including power, cooling, networking, and servers.
- Supports ongoing projects related to data center buildout and upgrades.
- Collaborates with vendors and colocation providers to ensure infrastructure uptime and performance standards are met.
- Participates in shift rotations to maintain 24/7 operational coverage, demonstrating flexibility for any shift schedule.
- Utilizes ITSM/DCIM platforms such as Jira, ServiceNow, and NetBox to document and manage work orders and infrastructure data.
Requirements for the Data Center Operations Engineer :
- 10+ years of experience in data center compute operations, facilities, or infrastructure engineering, or a degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Hands-on experience with servers, networking, and structured cabling.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems including transformers, PDU, UPS, switchgear, and generators.
- Understanding of cooling systems including CRAC/CRAH units, CDUs, cooling towers, chillers, and containment environments.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and basic scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible).
