IDR is seeking a GIS Architect to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Austin, TX. This role involves supporting a major school district through GIS system configuration, data loading, and boundary analysis. The organization is known for its commitment to innovation and data-driven decision making in the education sector.
Position Overview for the GIS Architect:
- Collaborate and coordinate with GIS data analysts and data scientists to support district operations, particularly around boundary changes for campuses.
- Work with analytics teams to utilize location analytics data to configure the GIS system, load data, and fully scope out the school district within SchoolSitePro in ArcGIS.
- Manage the configuration, implementation, data loading, and governance of ArcGIS-based geospatial solutions, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
- Lead efforts to maintain and enhance GIS mapping and spatial analysis capabilities within the district’s infrastructure.
- Support web mapping application development and utilize advanced ArcGIS functionalities, including geocoding and spatial analysis tools.
Requirements for the GIS Architect:
- 6+ years’ experience in GIS with at least 2 years in a lead or architect role, preferably within K-12, Higher Education, or the government/public sector.
- 5+ years’ experience leading the configuration, implementation, and governance of ArcGIS-based solutions for mapping.
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience with ArcGIS, including ArcGIS Pro Advanced database management and network analyst toolboxes.
- Experience with data management, geocoding, spatial analysis, and web mapping application development.
- Experience with SchoolSite Pro is ideal.
