We are looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Snowflake Data Engineer to join one of our top healthcare clients in Austin, TX! The Snowflake Engineer architect, design, and manage data solutions across our modern cloud ecosystem. This role will focus on integrating Azure Data Lake, Snowflake Data Cloud, Boomi Integration Platform, and OvalEdge Data Governance Platform into a cohesive, scalable, and governed data environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines, transformations, and data models within Snowflake.
- Implement and manage Snowpipe, Snowpark, and Streamlit for real-time ingestion, advanced analytics, and interactive applications.
- Architect data structures following bronze, silver, and gold layer principles, ensuring scalable and reliable data flows.
- Champion adoption of Data Lakehouse architecture, blending structured and unstructured data into an enterprise-ready solution.
- Oversee end-to-end data flows leveraging the Boomi Integration Platform, including orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring of ETL/ELT jobs.
- Ensure seamless integration between Azure Data Lake, Snowflake, and other enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects to optimize data movement patterns for performance and cost efficiency.
- Partner with data governance teams to operationalize data cataloging, lineage, and stewardship within OvalEdge.
- Define and enforce best practices for metadata management, access controls, and data lifecycle policies.
- Establish quality frameworks and monitoring to ensure trustworthy and compliant data delivery.
- Lead a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and code reviews.
- Partner with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Advocate for cloud-native best practices and emerging technologies that align with the enterprise data strategy.
Top Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field; or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3+ years leading Snowflake-focused initiatives
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a team as this role will act as a hands on supervisor
- Deep expertise in Snowflake Data Cloud, including Snowpipe, Snowpark, and Streamlit
- Experience with Azure Data Lake (ADLS) and related services.
- Hands-on experience with Boomi Integration Platform for data flows, orchestration, and automation. (experience with similar systems will be accepted, Informatica, Mulesoft, Talend, Fivetran)
- Strong SQL and Python skills; proficiency in building scalable and reusable data pipelines
- Snowflake’s SnowPro Core Certification
- Boomi certification (Professional Developer or higher) required within first 90 days. Access to training and certification available via Central Health.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices for data engineering (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform, DBT, Coalesce, Rivery, etc)
- Knowledge of machine learning workflows and enabling analytics through Snowpark and external tools
- Familiarity with OvalEdge or similar data governance platforms (Collibra, Alation, Informatica)
- Exposure to healthcare, financial services, or other highly regulated industries
