IDR is seeking a Principal Applications Engineer to join one of our top clients in Houston, Texas. This role is perfect for a seasoned mechanical engineer with a strong background in gas compressor engineering and rotordynamics, looking to transition into a business development or customer-facing role. Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Principal Applications Engineer:

– Serve as a bridge between engineering and commercial functions
– Apply your expertise in rotordynamics and gas compressor design for aerodynamics
– Work with equipment from Solar Turbines and similar companies
– Adapt technical solutions to real-world applications
– Work 100% onsite at our client's location

Required Skills for Principal Applications Engineer:

– Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
– 10-15 years of experience as a mechanical engineer or gas compressor engineering
– Strong expertise in rotordynamics and gas compressor design for aerodynamics
– Proven ability to bridge engineering and commercial functions
– Previous experience or familiarity with Williams, Siemens, or similar companies is highly preferred

Compensation Details: $150,000-175,000 annual salary
