IDR is seeking a GIS Advisor 1 to join one of our top clients in Nashville for a contract to hire opportunity. This is an exciting opportunity for a GIS professional to serve as a liaison performing analytical, technical, and administrative work in support of the client’s Enterprise GIS system. Position Overview/Responsibilities for the GIS Advisor 1:

 

– Conduct use-case analysis of current business functions to identify opportunities for improved efficiency through the incorporation of or transition to GIS toolsets

– Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to senior leadership, showcasing new processes, workflows, and analyses

– Communicate with internal and external technical resources to resolve end-user issues and provide guidance to users on methods for correcting problems

– Perform quality control processes on GIS data and attribute information

– Plan and communicate specific work tasks for database creation and management, application development, and ongoing maintenance

 

Required Skills for GIS Advisor 1:

 

– Bachelor’s degree in GIS or a related field from an accredited college or university

– Thorough understanding and proficiency in geographic information system technology and geographic principals

– Five or more years of experience in using ESRI GIS systems and performing complex spatial analysis

– Extensive experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online

– Considerable problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

– Experience with management of Geodatabases, including tabular relational data models and schemas and their implementation

– Familiarity with Industry standard quality control and assurance practices

– Experience with Python, Tableau, AllSource, or ESRI Solutions for Public Safety is preferred
