Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Senior High Voltage Cable Design Engineer:
- Design, develop, and optimize high voltage cable systems
- Conduct thermal, mechanical, and electrical analyses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design and integration
- Travel for site assessments, customer visits, and industry conferences (15-20%)
- Work in a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote; flexible week-to-week) in HUNTERSVILLE, NC
Required Skills for Sr Engineer High Voltage Cable Design:
- 5-7 years of direct experience with high voltage cables, overhead lines, and underground transmission systems
- Strong track record in design, analysis, and performance evaluation
- Solid foundation in electrical engineering, with a preference for candidates with high voltage expertise
- Familiarity with industry standards: CEA, AEIC, IEC, IEEE
- Proficiency in CYMCAP Software for cable ampacity calculations, thermal analysis, and system optimization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to travel and adapt to hybrid work schedules
