IDR is seeking a Database Developer to join one of our top clients in Nashville, TN. This is a full time, direct-hire W2 opportunity. This individual is required to be local to Nashville, TN. If you have 5+ years of hands-on Oracle, database development and Shell scripting experience- we want to talk to you!

 

Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Database Developer:

  • Designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Design, create, and implement database systems based on the end user’s requirements
  • Develop, test and maintain oracle database objects for PEARLCARE software.
  • Refactor existing database objects to support enhancements of system control, diagnostic and other research subject areas.
  • Investigate and support new technology initiatives to improve or enhance current database capabilities.
  • Learn new applicable programming techniques as needed.
  • Work with other database personnel, front end programmers and customer support as needed.
  • Write documentation and sop’s for future use.

Required Skills for the Database Developer:

  • 5+ years of hands-on Oracle Relational modeling, database development and Shell scripting experience
  • 3+ years working in Oracle Database DDL, DML and concepts (table, triggers, views, procedures, functions, packages), PL/SQL, SQL languages with SQLplus, SQLcli and/or SQLdeveloper, Modeling (SQLmodeler, ERWIN, TOAD), Data extraction, Oracle Data pump, SQL Loader, Unix and Shell scripting.
  • Experience with database version control through VSS or equivalent
  • Demonstrated technical excellence working to support scientific user base to engage in problem solving and finding proactive solutions
  • Proven track record of leading database transformation and development project through to successful implementation
  • Significant Oracle database test development and performance tuning experience
  • Proficiency in technical writing, documenting solutions, and communicating with clients and users.
