Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Lead Security Engineer: The Lead Security Engineer takes the wheel in directing all cybersecurity endeavors. This involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities, from crafting and implementing security measures to meticulously documenting procedures and standards. They play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of security awareness through tailored training sessions for end users and system owners. Ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, and CMMC is paramount, alongside staying updated on emerging security technologies to address evolving risks. The Lead Security Engineer spearheads the design of robust system architectures with a cybersecurity-centric approach, integrating security automation for enhanced efficiency. They diligently conduct risk assessments, contribute expertise to technical projects, evaluate threat intelligence for strategic application, and develop comprehensive training materials tailored to various stakeholders within the organization. 

Required Skills for the Lead Security Engineer: 

  • 10+ years of IT Security experience, preferably Cyber Security. 

  • Lead experience 

  • Expertise in NIST Risk Management Framework and risk methodologies, specifically NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, and CMMC frameworks  

  • Comprehensive understanding of Global/International regulations and compliance 

  • Bachelor's or higher required in Computer Science, Info Security, or related technical field. 

Nice to Have: 

  • Background in Supply Chain 

  • Advanced industry certifications a plus, e.g., SANS GIAC, OSCP/E, CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CCNA, CCNA Cyber Ops
