Lead Conversational AI Engineer

  • Ongoing contract (Client maintains right to hire after 3 months though rarely exercises this right)
  • Location: Malvern, PA (open to relocation)
  • C2C Pay Rate: $70/HR

Responsibilities:

  • Lead architecture and development of conversational AI solutions across chat and voice channels.
  • Design and implement bot flows, integrating with enterprise systems, APIs, and knowledge sources.
  • Guide the technical roadmap for platforms like Kore.ai and Genesys, aligning with product and UX teams.
  • Ensure quality, scalability, and security of AI-based interactions.
  • Mentor developers, review code, and drive best practices in bot development and natural language design.
  • Track performance, using analytics and user feedback to improve containment, deflection, and overall experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years in software engineering, with 2+ years in Conversational AI.
  • Strong experience with Kore.ai, Genesys Cloud, or similar chatbot/IVR platforms.
  • Practical knowledge of NLP/NLU, dialog management, and intent design.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and API-based integrations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across product, design, and engineering teams.
  • A passion for creating intuitive, human-like conversations that actually solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with LLM integration, voice biometrics, or personalization strategies.
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design in bot experiences.
